Wanganui gym
A team of junior gymnasts from the Turoa Tumblers Gym Club competed in Wanganui recently at the gymnastic association's inter-club competition.
Girls and boys enjoyed a day of fun and emerged with some good results. In the g i r 1 ' s competition Stanella Ngarewa (grade four) was placed 7th overall; Mandy Pearson (grade
six) 1st overall with first placings in both beam and floor exercises, and a team comprising Jessie Pope, Denise Waerea, Kerri Allerby and Kelly Swain (grade eight) were placed 4lh overall. The team of junior boys Andrew Murdie, Ben Wiggins and John Hays (grade ten) was placed 1st overall in the competition, with Andrew 2nd on parallel bars, 1st horizontal bars and 2nd in floor exercises; Ben 2nd on horizontal bars; and John placed 1st on parallel bars, 2nd on vault and 3rd in floor exercises.
