Good turnout
In spite of appalling conditions there was a good tumout of golfers for the final qualifying round for the Waimarino Club championships. Results for the day were as follows: Senior: P. Goldfinch lst with a nett 70, T. Geraghty, G. Allerby, M.J. Kennedy, R . Brown nett 72, A. Berridge nett 73. Junior: N. Clarke 68 nett and Roarer;s mug, G. Price 69 nett, A . Robinson 71, T . Donghi 72, J. Mcllroy and J. Kennedy 74. Saturday Cup qualifiers are posted and hopefully the first round will be played as soon as possible. The finalists for the club championships are as follows:
Senior: J. summerhays, J. Ennis, G. Allerby, P. Goldfinch, A.R. Brown, T. Tapp, R. Pearson. Eighth place is to be decided between S. Magee and D. Windle. Intermediate: B. Drinwater, T. Geraghty, T. Fredericks Jnr, A . B crridge, M.J. Kennedy, T. Donghi, A. Robinson, C . Tumer. Junior: N. Clarke, J. Hammond, N. Lietz, J. Kennedy. Improvers: G. Price, H. Geraghty, B. Dowsett, J. Mcllroy. The Alphe Cup for the best two nett qualifying rouns went to N. Clarke with 136 nett. Sponsors: Prices Pharmacy and Ruapehu Hotel Ltd.
