NEAR FATAL ACCIDENT

The Ohakune Volunteer Fire Brigade, police and traffic officcr Ian Harrison attended an accident west of Winstone Pulp Industries on Sunday. A car travclling west slid in gravel and rolled, coming to rcst on its roof a short way from the entrance to the mill. Police say the driver of the vehicle swcrved to avoid stock bcing drivcn along the road. All five mcmbcrs of a Wainuiomata family were taken to Wanganui. Base Hospital via ambulance, whcre two wero admittcd. The extcnt of their injuries is not known.
