Ohakune-Karioi's under 19's came u p against tough defence and lost by one penalty on Saturday. Ohakune-Karioi played into a strong wind in the first half and found the going tough against a much improved Technical College Old Boy's forward pack. Ohakune-Karioi were driving well on occasions but were n o t consistent and could not finish off promising moves. Technical College Old B o y s kicked a penalty late in the first half with the wind at their backs. In the second half Ohakune-Karioi needed only to apply themselves but could not lift their game. With 10 minutes remaining Ohakune-Karioi kept hard on attack but Technical College Old Boys defence was too good. Technical College Old Boys held out to win 3 nil. M. Wills was named Player of the Day.
