NAME RETURNED TO THE OLD COUNTRY
The name "Dalgety" and its association with stock and station agencies disappears from the rural scene in New Zealand this month. Dalgety has been known in the rural regions since 1860 surviving several mergers business deals, including the merger with Wrightson NMA, (which was a company borne out of two companies, Wright Stephensons and NMA). The parent company of Dalgety, based in Great Britain, have taken back the name as a result of a corporate agreement. The name "Wrightson" now stands alone, having dropped NMA as a result of the merger with Dalgety and this latest agreement to relinquish the name "Dalgety".
