Situation: A disturbed westerly airstream is expected to continue through periods. On Tuesday winds should ease as a weak ridge crosses the country. On Wednesday a deep depression is expected to move south east over southern New Zealand followed by a south westerly flow. Forecast: Westerlies and showers easing on Tuesday. North westerlies strengthening on Wednesday with a period of rain then cool and showery south vvest winds developing though some sunny intervals.
