I would like to congratulate the Bulletin on your reporting of the council meeting on the rate debate. Your headlining of the rate increase, at least must have brought it to the notice of some ratepayers. On that subject, I feel that you should have put the statement from Mayor Workman, that "it seems that t h e overall increase (in rates) is acceptable to the district" also in bold type. The ratepayers have no other option. Still on the subject of ratepayers' money, would it be possible for the Bulletin to print an article on how a bunch of speculators can come to the council with an idea, incurring an appeal, the cost being born by the taxpayer.

No time for god I am a very conscious, well-being citizen and a very devoted heathen. I am also very contented with my lifestyle and with many interests. And yet if there is one thing I deplore, it is having my most interesting lifestyle invaded by door knocking adults, who insist on dragging small innocent children around
from house to house and street to street. I can't help but feel these so called Christian door knockers are calling out to the Heavenly Father to find them a heathen friend. Well I'm sorry Heavenly Father, but due to my busy lifestyle I find very little time to befriend these (in my opinion) lonely people. Unless of course Heavenly Father you could insist these door knocking followers of yours could come and help me paint and wallpaper our house, help me with m y sewing and knitting, do my ceramics ready for selling, weed my g arden which is on the verge of collapsing, due to suffocation with weeds, lawns need one more mowing and our house is in desperate need for a good vacuum and dusting, also the windows need cleaning. With all this help Heavenly Father, I may even find time to swat for my up-coming exams to qualify me for my new job. Thank-you Lord and God bless you. Born again Heathen
Time, effort, missed As an Ohakuneite who thoroughly enjoyed the Queen's Birthday weekend carnival, I would like to acknowledge the tremendous time and effort Mrs Val Parkes and Pat (Trish) Van Stone put into the organising of this event. Sadly both of them wcre very unwell over the weekend, and could not enjoy the festivities. I hope they can fully enjoy next year's.

Clan gathers From December 1518 1988, Dunedin will host a world gathering of Clan Campbell, to be presided over by the Duke of Argyll and his Duchess. The Duke and Duchess wish to meet as many Campbells and those who belong to the many Septs of Clan Campbell they can during their visit, so if your name or the name of any of your ancestors is amongst those listed below, you, and members of your family, are entitled to attend the celebrations. An exciting pro-
gramme of events has been arranged and a wide range of accommodation is available to people from outside Dunedin who will be attending. There will be Campbells from many parts of the world and from all over New Zealand converging on Dunedin for this unique event - the first time a world gathering of Campbells has been held anywhere but Inverary Castle, Argyll, the home of our Chief. For further details please contact: Mrs P.G. Campbell, "Glen Elgin", Middlemarch, R.D. 2, Central Otago, Phone (02426) 8 7 2, Secretary of Clan Campbell. It should be noted that with the evolution of surnames as we know them today a name may derive from different sources. This list includes some names which by no means belong to Clan Campbell alone. If one of these names occurs in your family tree, but you are otherwise u'ncertain about Campbell connections you need not feel diffident about joining the Clan Society or wearing Camp-
bell tartan. Some of the names which belong to the Septs are: Bannatyne, Burns, Bumett, Cadell, Calder, Cattell, Connochie, Denoon, Denune, Harris, Hastings, Haws, Hawson, Isaac, Loudoun, Maconochie," MacDiarmid, MacGibbon, Maclsaac, Maclver, Maclvor, MapKellar, MacKelvie, MacKerlie, MacKessack, MacKessock,
MacKissock, MacLaws, MacLehose, MacNichol, MacOran, MacOwen, MacPhedran, MacPhun, MacTause, MacTavish, MacThomas, MacUre, Moore, Muir, Orr, Tawesson, Thomas, Thomason, Thompson, "Thomson, Torry, Ure.

Do people care? I am writing to say how upset I am about people today.
Monday of Queen's Birthday weekend 1 went shopping at the Community Centre, while I was there I had a sudden Epileptic fit and while I was having my fit, someone, possibly children decided to take my wallet with three twenty dollar bills, my wallet was later found at the BMX track. I wonder do people care anymore?
