Quality job for Miro St
How good a job to do on Ohakune's Miro Street hill was a subject of discussion at the full council meeting May 30. The Waimarino DisJrict Council has rated to cover upgrading of the road, but a number of councillors felt a lesser job would be adequate. The council heard that the engineers believed a lesser job would be satisfactory. The council needed to decide whether to apply for roads board subsidy for the work. Councillor Thompson said as the council had rated for a good job they should follow through. Mayor Workman asked: "Would a lesser job suffice and the money be better spent elsewhere?" Councillor Ellen Gould asked: "Are peo-
ple taking into accour.: the winter traffic?" Cr Sue said the Ohakune Borough Council had done everything it could to fix the situation and it was still bad. The council decided to apply for the subsidy on the project.
