Equal name suppression
At last month's sitting of the Ohakune District Court a female defendant who had allegedly ripped off the local power board to the value of over $2,000 was granted interim suppression of name on the grounds that she had a child at school who would suffer as a result of having her name published. Can we expect to see male defendants who are fathers of children at school granted the same request for name suppression?
