Inner peace epidemic
On several occasions lately in Bulletin columns the subject of inner peace has been mentioned. The last occasion was

I believe there's a lot around already! Perhaps I can add to this view in the light of what I see as the Symptoms of Inner Peace. (Indeed, it seems probably that we could well find our society experiencing it in epidemic proportions, which then of course may pose a serious threat to what in the
past has been a fairly stable condition of conflict in the world!) The symptoms: • A tendency to think and act spontaneously, rather than from fears based on past experiences. • An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment. • Loss of interest in judging people.
• Loss of interest in judging oneself. • Loss of interest in interpreting the action of others. • Loss of interest in conflict. • Loss of ability to worry (this is a very serious symptom). • Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation. • Contented feelings of connectedness with others and with nature.
• Frequent attacks of smiling through the eyes from the heart. • Increasing tendency to let things happen rather than trying to make them happen. • Increasing susceptibility to love, extended by others as well as an uncontrollable urge to extend it. Warning: If you are Library cuts I was saddened to read that monies to maintain/upgrade our library were a prime target for pruning in the Council's budget. I was amazed that an interest in books and libraries and a concern for children and old age
experiencing all or even most of the above be advised you may have an advanced condition of peace which may well be incurable and also highly infectious. If you are concerned further you may contact me. Vera Donnelly Inner Peace Movement Support Co-ordinator ( reprinted in part from Times Communicator News) pensioners could b e v i e w e d a s "sentimental". However, I am hopeful that an elected group of middle-aged citizens can learn to work together for the greater good of all people in our district.
