Who's arguing...
A row has developed over revaluation in the rural ward of the Waimarino District. Former county council member John Martin is challenging District manager John Murrihy to reveal the full impact of revaluation in the light of the annual rating review. Copies of the written exchanges between both men are printed below. While the letters have been edited slightly, the statements are unaltered. The source of Mr Martin's information was a Wanganui Chronicle news item based on an interview with Mr Murrihy. Mr Murrihy has suggested that the report misinterpreted what he actually said. Nonetheless, he addresses all of the points in question in his article below.
