Disgusted at sports coverage!
My family and I are disgusted at the standard of sports reporting in your paper. For some weeks your paper has reported on the fortunes of the Ohakune rugby team. Hardly a mention of Waiouru or Raetihi's team. We contented ourselves with the knowledge that win or lose, when Raetihi played Ohakune, your paper would be unable to ignore Raetihi's efforts, but it did. You had a report on the Ohakune under nineteen game, named the Northern Wanganui team, had an article on rugby rules, but not a word on one of the most exciting games of rugby seen in the Waimarino for many years. If, probably in excess of one thousand people could turn up to watch and enjoy a fine game of rugby, then . surely a Waimarino Bulletin reporter could. If events outside of Ohakune are of no interest to you then I respectfully suggest that you change the name of your paper to the Ohakune Bulletin and the rest of us Waimarino residents will rely, as we do now, on the Wanganui Chronicle for our news coverage. M.L. Most Raetihi
