Pony Club prizegiving
Thb Raetihi Pony Club ended a very busy season on Sunday with a mini Gymkhana and prizegiving at the Raetihi Showgrounds. There was a good tumout of riders including members of Ohakune Pony Glub, who made up teams to compete for Waimarino cups.
Cup winners were Lisa Hagley (rider over jumps), Rachel James (best bare back rider), Tania Taylor, Cindy Langdon, Rodney McCoubrie and Donovan Morris (best team over jumps and on flats.) Trophies donated by Bowater Saddlery were won by Sally Williams, Trudi Allerby and Cindy
Langdon in the six bar jump event. Cups for effort and achievement throughout the year were presented in a number of categories: Junior attendance Sally Williams, intermediate attendance Trudi Allerby and Rachel Duigan, senior attendance Cindy Lang-
don, most improved junior Vanessa Enright, most improved intermediate Trudi Allerby, most improved senior Donovan Morris, junior groomed and turned out Sally Williams, intermediate groomed and turned out Rachel James, senior groomed and turned out Cindy Langdon, most conscientious rider Rachel James. T 'D' Certificates were achieved by Vanessa Enright, Rosmarie Clark and Vicki Pearson. A presentation was made to Roie McGill in recognition of her outstanding contribution to Pony Club, particularly the training of senior riders for outside competitions. There was a good attendance at the Raetihi annual general meeting with no changes in office bearers. Co-ordina-tor Nicki Williams thanked all parents for their help and support throughout a busy season, which included a number of fine achievements at National competitions, namely two representatives at the North Island Dressage Teams Championships at Katikati, a team at the Timberlands O.D.E. at Tokoroa and two members in the King Country team to compete at the New Zealand Pony Club Championships at Cambridge this week. The Waimarino A.G.M. resulted in a compl'ete change of office bearers, with Nicki Williams elected District Commissioner, Nita Wilde as president, Jill Evans as secretary, Evelyn Cooper as officer in charge of equipment, and Roie McGill as chief instructor. Pony Club in the Waimarino wishes to thank all those members of the community who helped and supported them throughout the year with their activities.
