Jobs allocated

An election of councillors to a number of committees took place at last week's full Waimarino District Council meeting. Mayor Garrick Workman and Cr Doug Bennett were elected to the Wanganui United Council. A combined committee of Ohakune and Raetihi members of Keep New Zealand Bcautiful was

suggested at the meeting. The committee could then effectively serve the entire district. Councillor Peggy Frew will liaise with the committee as the council's representative. Mayor Workman and Cr Ken Summerhays were nominated as chairman and deputy respeclively, on the committee of the National Roads Board.

Cr's Bill Harding, Tom Punch, David Griffiths, Doug Bennett and Jeremy Trebilcock were elected to serve on the combined Hydatids and Noxious Plants/Pinus Contorta committee. The committee will elect their own chairman at their next meeting. The entire works and reserves committee were nominated to the Mountain Road committee.
