The winner of the recent Pet Week colouring competition for the Waimarino is 7-year-old Jenny Murdie. Organisers of the nationwide event, Vetmark and the community Newspapers Association, said it was a great success with more than 2,000 entries. Jenny not only wins $50 for herself as a prize, but
wins her school library a $50 donation. Highly commended entries from the Waimarino were: Rayna Tuirirangi, Matthew Bishop, Amy Cranston, Rachel Hays, Rachel Blackburn, Andrew Murdie, Kirsty Dillon, Christina Phillip, Erin Martin and Nathan Fitzgerald.
