Exclusive timeshare chalets at Turangi

Turangi's exclusive Kaimanawa Lodge is offering two prestige units on timeshare this winter. A New Zealand first has been recorded with the marketing package by selling all time on a "floating" basis. This means the owner of the interval can use it at any time of the year provided the unit is not occupied. To launch the programme the developers have discounted intervals from $12,000 to $10,000. Lodge owner Mr Robin McMillan says the resort is affiliated with Interval International which means intervals can be exchanged overseas. The Kaimanawa Lodge is an exclusive Lockwood lodge near the Tongariro River, popular among anglers and for small corpo rate conferences. Only four two-storey chalets are being built for timesharing, with two about to be completed and released on to the market shortly. "This is a small development," says Mr McMillan, "because we want to keep it peaceful and private, a retreat where there is no buzzing crowd." Timeshare owners will also enjoy membership of the Turangi Golf Club and use of the lodge's launch, restaurant and bar. Mr McMillan says he can provide guides for fishing, hunting, rafting and skiing.
