Skiers Sunday special with Taupo vessel
Following a recordbreaking 'Ski-tacular 1988' in February, Troutline of New Zealand is now preparing to offer Taupo Cat passengers the opportunity to water-ski behind Taupo Cat. Weather permitting, on selected Sundays a limited number of daily cruise passengers will have the chance to ski from behind Taupo Cat's specially designed central stern boom.
"It's all part of the Taupo Cat fun package," said Troutline of New Zealand's Managing Director, Mr Bill Carrig. "Since Ski-tacular, we've had continuing requests from keen skiers, so we're building it in to our 'Great Western Bay Experience' Cruise. "We'll announce our final ski package once all the details are arranged. It will probably be at the end of the daily cruise, along the Taupo Lakefront, or wher-
ever water conditions are best suited in the Taupo vicinity." Taupo Cat water skiers will be expected to provide 'their own gear and Troutline of New Zealand will organise safety precaution pick up boats. With all the modern wetsuit gear available, the "Taupo Cat Skiers' Sunday Special" expects to attract the winter snowski market as well as the summer water-skiers. The package will be
promoted at the 1988 j Snow Shows and depending i on the response, Troutline i of New Zealand hopes to 1 offer Taupo Cat skiing
from the beginning of the snow ski season. The Central North Island will then x able to offer the unique ;ombination of snowski-
ing one day and only a short drive away, waterskiing next day behind a fast 25 metre luxury cruising catamaran.
