A million dollars has been spent improving ski services at Turoa over summer. A new ski-lift will be opened in the coming season. Skier services manager at Turoa, Luigi Hotter, says it will start at the top of Branch Line Trail, and run up the western slide of the Jumbo Return and up
the side of Slider. A major alteration has been made to the cafeteria, where the staff room and ski-patrol room have been taken out of the frame to improve the cafeteria facilities. He says the ski-hire operation has been moved out of the cafeteria and into the former creche, allowing more space to work in.
The area has been given a total overhaul, with a new entry-way, staff room, skipatrol room and groomer storage shed. The roller door has also been removed and the whole area has been given a pine finish. Mr Hotter expects a great season, because the new services will make it "even easier" for skiers to enjoy themselves.
