"With tourism as an important part of the economy, the World Cup events would benefit both the ski industry and the country as a whole," Mr Ball says. Mr Ball says Turoa still has plenty to offer skiers in the coming season. The Adult Academy, a scheme involving intense ski instruction over a fiveday period, will be continued because of its popularity in the past. Intropak - a discounted package aimed at potential first-time skiers - will be run for the third season. The deal includes a bus ride up to the field, ski equipment, lift passes and ski instruction, all at a discounted rate. Turoa Ski Academy will be offering a wide range of packages to skiers, but Mr Ball points out that all plans depend on one factor. "We're in the hands of God as far as the weather is concerned," he said. "I'm praying for snow."
