Door cover charge will be the same as last year's price - $10 per person. Wintery Wednesday nights will soon be abuzz with the exciting line-up of games planned for the Whakapapa Tavern. This season five different games will be played over alternate Wednesday nights during Winter. The games this season include three old time favourites: indoor ski races, turtle toboggan races and, Tug o' War. The two new games for the season were devised by the Chateau's house manager Blyth Adams. The Wall' and scooter races look set to become firm favourites with regulars. The scooter races involves a team of five members aboard one oversized scooter: so far so good, the catch being that the first, third and fifth occupant of the scooter must have their right feet on the board and occupants two and four should have their left feet on the board. The object of the game is to beat the other teams' scooter around an obstacle course to be determined on the night. The Wall' as ominous as it
sounds, is a 12ft wide by 9ft high hazard of sturdy construction. Teams of five must all scale it twice against the clock. The team with the quickest time over and back are the winner. This season's Tug o' War 'grudge match' between Whakapapa and Turoa ski patrols looks set to be the highlight of the
season. Word has it Whakapapa is still smarting from Turoa's unprecedented win of the shield and are determined to win it back. Other teams to watch for are the National Park Waxheads, RAL Grasscutters, and the National Park Residents who are apparently coming out of retirement.
