TV to focus on Kohange Reo

By Teresa O'Connor Children from the Ruapehu Catholic Maori performing group will travel to Auckland this month to appear on the televised Kohanga Reo programme. The children, who range in age from four to 13 years old, have all been a part of the Kohanga Reo system operating in Ohakune from the Maungarongo marae. Some now attend Ohakune Primary School but continue to perform with the group. The children recently returned from an annual hui in Napier, where they won the "midget" section competition.
