RAETIHI ADMIN CENTRE RUMOURS SCOTCHED

Rumours that Raetihi will be re-established as an administration centre for the Waimarino have been dismissed by District Council Mayor Garrick Workman. At the recent Waimarino District Council steering committee meeting Mayor Workman said the rumours were unfounded. "I just want it made very very clear that the main administration office (for the Waimarino District Council) is in Ohakune," said Mayor Workman. He said there will be an office in Raetihi which will be available for enquires from the public for paying rates etc. The office would be manned by at least one person, he said.
