Election seems a waste
Election of WDC As an average citizen I read your excellent reports of the election of officers of the above
council and summed it up as, just another election. Until I read the fourth paragraph of your arti-
cle headed 'Workman elected mayor'. Then when I looked up I see the first issue to be attended to is their own survival. Now, if as reported, everybody knew that the possibility of regionalisation was imminent and had been discussed with the commissioner, it seems now a waste of time and
money having an election for district council. I don't remember any discussions on regionalisation so the making of submissions should be shelved, until the council finds out how the district feels. The first issue to be attended to surely is sewage for Rangataua and clean water for Ohakune.
