Pony Club awards presented
Due to lack of instructors, weekend consuming competitions and wet weather, the Ohakune Pony Club Branch held their break up barbecue and prize giving recently. A good number enjoyed a meal at Peter and Paulette Richard and the patron Mr Ian Roke prcsent the year's awards: Attendance, Natasha Richards; Junior Grooming and Gear, Natasha Richards; Senior Grooming and Gear, Fiona Evans; Most Promising Rider, Tania Taylor; Senior
Horsemanship, Tania Taylor; 'D' Certificate, Chantelle Wilson. On Saturday March 26, the King Country Area Horse Trials will be held at Roke's Otiranui property, Lakes Road, Ohakune. Classes will be held for the less experienced riders. Fund raising is now in progress to help send selected riders to- the NZPC Horse Trial Championships at Cambridge in May to represent the King Country Area. The Waimarino Team selected for the Timber-
lands Horse Trials midApril will also receive funds. This will be the first time the Waimarino has been able to field a team. A gold sweatshirt has been added to the Waimarino Pony Club uniform for riding cross country courses.
