Massey scholar keeps it up
1987 Winstone Samsung Industries scholarship winner J i m m y Samson has a lot to thank the Mill for. Not only was he partly funded throughout his first year at Massey University but he also had a job assured during the school breaks. He also did his part in
keeping up a satisfactory standard of work throughout the year. Jimmy is one year closer to finishing a three year bachelors degree in accountancy. "The scholarship has been invaluable for paying bills," he said, "especially the hostel fees which need to be paid right at the beginning of the year - bursary payments don't
arrive until the end of the first term." During holidays, Jimmy worked full-time in the mill's stock room, doing "a bit of every thing". The scholarship will be payable to Jimmy until he finishes his degree at Massey University, with the proviso that he maintains „ a high standard of work.
