SNOW TRAIN A COMIN'
A National Park ski lodge director is to lease a train from New Zealand Railways and run weekend trips from Auckland to National Park and Ohakune for winter skiers. The train will be made up from renovated 'Northerner' carriages and will arrive Friday night and return Sunday night, costing $70 per person return. Mr Fletcher says he expects up to 500 people to use the service, though carriages will be added according to demand. He says since announcing the train plans he has had several enquiries about a possible Wellington train.
