Golf season opens

Ces Allerby the newest life club member teed off with a good drive to open the season of the Waimarino Golf Club on Sunday.

The format of the day was greensome foursomes for those drawn with a lady partner and four ball best ball par, for the balance of the field. The greensome foursome was won by E. Rush and J. Ennis with nett 60, runners up were M. Kennedy and R. Pearson with nett 63. The four ball best ball par was won by F. Bright and M. Edwards with 8 up. There were only two only twos scored b y Franz Brandl and Neil Lietz, E. Rush and J. Ennis. Ron Southee won the summer eclectic with 63 nett.
