WAIMARINO COUNTY CQUNCIL CALLING FOR TENDERS A. Tenders are invited for the grazing and/or market . gardening of the Horopito Domain. The area involved excludes the School House and surrounds and is approximately 2.2 hectares. Conditions of tender may be viewed at the Waimarino County Council, Administration Centre at Raetihi. Tenders close at 4.00pm 21st March 1988. Highest or any tender not necessarily accepted. B. The Waimarino County Council in calling for "Registrations of Interest" in the use of the School House and surrounds of the Horopito Domain. The Council seeks ideas from individuals or groups that will make use of the School House in particular, but the ideas may incorporate the Domain as a whole. At this stage Council is looking for a broad outline of the usage envisaged, which may be community or commercially based. The School House and Domain will not be for sale, but some form of lease with an annual monetary return and maintenance clause will be considered. After initial registrations, the Council will call for further details from those ideas considered compatible with the longer term preservation of the School House and surrounds. WAIMARINO COUNTY COUNCIL RURAL FIRE AUTHORITY Lifting of Restricted Fire Season Public notice is hereby given that due to the reduced fire hazard, the following Fire Restriction has been lifted; Restricted Fire Season Pursuant to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977. Notice is given that the lighting of fires in the open air in the Waimarino County is restricted as from February 15th 1988, to those fires for which a permit has been issued except for those activities as described below. AND FURTHER that this restriction remains in force until further notice. Exceptions The following activities are permitted: Rubbish fires and the burning of dead stock where the fire is contained within a pit or other confined area and where not less than four metres of ground surrounding the fire is cleared of all combustible material. Barbecues lit in properly constructed containers and fuelied with gas, solid or liquid fuel. Cooking fires at camping and picnic sites lit within approved concrete or stone surrounds and with not less than three metres of ground surrounding the container cleared of all combustible material. Provided That no such fires shall be lit when high or gusty winds are prevailing. In all cases a person lighting a fire within these exceptions shall remain in attendance at the fire until it is fully extinguished. It shall be no legal defence against claims for damage caused by any fire, that such fire was of the type, or lit at the time permitted by this notice. Applications for permits should be made to the County Office, Raetihi (phone 54-014) minimum of 24 hours before the permit is required.
