New insurance brokerage
A new company that claims to have the interests of the Waimarino at heart is up and running i n Raetihi. 'High Country Brokers Ltd" officially opens its doors for business today. General Manager Lance Langdon, formerly branch manager for Security and General Raetihi, said the new business will operate
out of Peach Cornwall and Partners' building in Seddon Street, Raetihi. Mr Langdon said it was the lack of insurance representation in the Waimarino that prompted him to establish the business. High Country Brokers has access to 15 reputable insurers nationwide, including NZI, Royal Insurance, Commercial Union, AMP and Security and General.

Mr Langdon said future plans for the venture were "quite ambitious. There is a growing trend in New Zealand towards broking services. He said his offers clients a complete service and can perform all insurance broking functions together with estate planning, superannuation and life assurance. He can advise clients on risk management and find them the most competitive insurance deal that exists for their respective needs. Mr Langdon said the first priority of the company is to build up
a business portfolio. The support he has received from the business sector of the Waimarino, he said is gratifying. The company will service Wanganui, Taupo an the central North. Island. In fact, anywhere there is a need, according to Mr Langdon. Depending on the success of the business, Mr Langdon said he may look to other areas to open subsidiary branches. A Palmerston Northbased Manager has been appointed to his former position at Security and General. Administration will be based in Raetihi. Mr Langdon, 37, and his wife Glenys have three children aged 17, 15 and 11. His main interests are family activities.
