OUR HISTORY

In this the second article in our historical series, the Bulletin gratefully acknowledges the help we have received from Ohakune historian Merrilyn George for making available to us copies of early newspapers for both this week's edition as well as our first "new-look" Bulletin last week. Merrilyn George has collected together a vast amount of local material - newspapers, letters, documents, maps, photographs etc - in preparation for the book she is currently writing and has very kindly invited us to dip into this treasure chest of memorabilia for this series on our early history. In this week's edition we take a look at another local community paper: The Ohakune Times, Rangataua Advocate and Waimarino Gazette.
