WEATHER
This regular report is essential reading, in our view, particularly in an area where the interests and livelihoods of so many people are affected by the weather. The Waimarino region is fortunate to have its own meteorological service at Waiouru in the form of the Met Service's smallest office in New Zealand. It's a one -man band run by John Standish and as a result of his efforts the Bulletin will be publishing a long-range forecast for the week together with met figures for the three main locations in the district. In winter mountain information and ski reports will be included. In the off-season weather reports can be obtained from John at Waiouru 56-799. LONG RANGE FORECAST (Until 28/2/88) Westerlies, strong at times. Long fine intervals and a few showers. A period of more widespread rain on about Thursday.
