Borough farewell
Plans are under way for a day of activities to mark the end of the Ohakune Borough. The aim of organisers is to include all age groups from Ohakune and surrounding areas in the day. The date chosen is Sunday March 13, with activities beginning around 1pm and with a cricket match a t Rochfort Park Rugby grounds. Then it is planned to move across to the park area surrounding the "Big Carrot". Here there will be fun races and games for the young (and the not so young) during the afternoon, commencing about 3pm. Barbecues will be pro-
vided for everybody's use. Everyone is asked to bring their own food for the evening which will also include a sing-a-long and a bonfire and other evening entertainment. A hangi will also be available to buy for those not wishing to barbeque their own food. For any planned event such as this we o f course rely on the support of the community for success," said Erin Marnoch, one of the organisers. "Keep reading your Waimarino Bulletin in the coming weeks for more details and please come on down to share the fun on March 13th," she said.
