Two questions
I was interested to read your article on the proposed Railway Hotel development in your last issue. There are two questions I did not see any reference to. The first is the question of safety. What happens if a train is derailed in the station and the high voltage cables are brought down? With the steel construction of the railway carriages one could be forgiven for thinking the whole hotel complex may become live! Is this a valid assumption? The second question is one of building standards. Will it really be possible for these carriages to meet current building standards, particularly with regard to insulation? I would have thought that any additional lining on the inside of these carriages will make the inside dimensions almost impossible to be used as accommodation. I look forward to the developer's response. Concerned
