Ohakune Police are investigating the burglary of two unoccupied chalets in the Turoa Alpine Village sometime last week. ★ ★★ Thieves ransacked a house in Raetihi Road sometime last week, taking property to the value of $9,000. Included in the stolen property was linen, bedspreads, a microwave oven and stone crocks. Enquiries are continuing. ★ ★★ A 21-year old youth arrested in Raetihi will appear in the Ohakune District Court on 12 February on five charges of reckless use of a motor vehicle. His name was not released. ★ ★★ Raetihi Police are investigating the break-in o f Raetihi School that occurred sometime during the weekend. Apparently nothing was stolen. ★ ★★ Raetihi Police Constable John Robinson assisted at a two car collision 10km south of Raetihi on the Parapara Highway, which saw a local man transferred to Wanganui Hospital's intensive care unit with spinal injuries. Both cars involved in the accident which occurred on Saturday night were severely damaged. ★ ★★ Far End Trading in Ayr Street, Ohakune was broken into overnight Friday. A radio-television unit was stolen from the premises. Ohakune Police are investigating the burglary of Rendezvous Dairy and the Jazzercise Centre, Goldfinch Street, Ohakune overnight Friday. Cigarettes and film were taken from the dairy and a tape deck stolen from the Jazzergetics building.
