Your own guidance
Do you know that the majority of people today, if you gave them out of the goodness of your heart, money, material for building, clothes, spare parts for a vehicle, tree shrubs for the g arden, or fruit and vegetables to eat, would receive these gifts wholeheartedly with thankfulness. But to get these same people to come to church to receive a spiritual gift is not possible. Why?. Because they have their own ideas on what life is all about. They think that they are heading in the right direction. Let me tell you a story about a certain captain of a large ship who would command ships in his pathway to move aside to make way for his ship, they would certainly obey or end up on the bottom of the ocean. This would go on day after day. However, one night with his ship's lights on he saw other smaller ships' lights ahead
and he bellowed "This is the captain speaking, move aside, move aside". Then hc came to this rather piercing and effective light ahead and said "This is the captain speaking, move aside, move aside", and you know what? It didn't move. He turned up his loud speaker to full blast, he was furious, the light was getting brighter and closer
and he began to yell! "This is the captain speaking!" but before he could finish his message a voice came forth with authority from the light "This is the lighthouse speaking!". Here is the end of the matter. Proverbs 14:12 says "there is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."
