One cent county rate demand
Tom Spry of R a n - gataua, pictured with his Waimarino rates demand, for which the total due is one cent. Tom was amazed at the statement which arrived in the mail, normal postage paid, and includes - "payment must be m a d e BEFORE 11 March". County clerk Hope Vaughn said the county office was obliged to send o u t all statements, e v e n if they are for a nil balance. "I was going to turf that one but n o , people want to know were they s t a n d , " said Mrs Vaughn Tom said he was happy for the money to go to the Rangataua Sewerage Scheme!
