More history visitors
The attraction of the Freyberg exhibition coupled with an intensive television advertising campaign werc attributed to the increase in numbers of visitors to th? Queen Elizabeth Memorial Museum over the Christmas holidays. Numbers wcre up on the same period last year according to the museum's curator Lieutenant Taylor, although exact figures will not be available until the end of the month. Lft. Taylor said the Freyberg Exhibition - a tribute to distinguished N e w Zealand soldier Bernard Freyberg, recipient of the Victoria Cross, generated a lot of interest from all visitors to the museum. Ongoing renovations and extensions to existing displays and new additions makes the War Memorial Museum a popuiar place to visit according to staff, who maintain that with cvery visit there is something new to see.
