A glass panel in the door to Wholesome Foods in Clyde St, Ohakune was smashed sometime Tuesday night. Entry to the premises was not gained and apparently nothing stolen. Enquiries are continuing. Raetihi Police have in their possession a .303 rifle in a well worn condition that they would like to return to its rightful owner. The rifle has a deers head and a pig engraved on either side of the butt. Two people are sought in connection with an incident of disorder outside the Ruapehu Hotel in Seddon St, Raetihi, on Wednesday night. ★ ★★ A would-be burglar who broke into a Miro Street, Ohakune home last Wednesday afternoon, made off in the direction of Shannon Street after being surprised by a babysitter. Police would like t o speak to a male Maori ii his late teens or early 20 's with collar-length well groomed hair. The man was wearing a white zip-uj wind breaker jacket, blue stone washed jeans arn jandals. The same man was seen leaving a Goldfinch St property earlier the same day.
