New Bike For This Season's Series
Richard Scott has returned to New Zealand for this season's international motorcycle racing series with an updated version of the 300km/ h Honda RS500
with which he won the last series. Scott will be sponsored for the series by Blue Wing Honda, the New Zealand importer and distributor of
Honda motorcycles. Blue Wing Honda has been assisting Scott's European campaign this year, his first real crack at world championship racing.
Scott, aged 29, will ride a 500cc vee-engined, threecylinder, two-stroke in the New Zealand international series. It has been reworked with all the latest factory modifications and will be even faster than the 300km/ h Honda RS500 with which the Wanganui rider won the last series. The bike has arrived earlier than expected and Scott is hoping to ride it in the opening round of the New Zealand motorcycling championship at Pukekohe on December 5. Scott predicts that the factory racer will reach spebds of over 320km/ h down Pukekohe's long back straight. This season Blue Wing Honda will alsq sponsor the national junior production racing series, which is for four-stroke motorcycles of under 650cc and for twostrokes under 400cc.
