We are along in the Season of Advent, and three candles now burn on the Advent Wreath at the Church. Those who have been following the Advent trail to Christmas will understand the full meaning of the gift of Christ in Christmas. As we have been preparing for Christmas, a number of interesting things have happened. Our Wainuiarua Pastorate raised $300 at their booth at "Chills Off' on the 29th. And, within the worship life of our Parish, Nicholas Coker was the first child to be admitted to H o 1 y Communion under the new Diocesan Rules, presented to the Vicar in St. John's Church by
Mrs Shelagh Buck who along with his parents helped prepare Nicholas for his first Communion. This Sunday, December 13th, the third Sunday in Advent, we again have just one Parish service for Ruapehu Parish and Wainuiarua Maori Pastorate: SEE YOU THEN! Bring a friend. 13th The third Sunday in Advent. (One parish Service - St. Mary's Church, Raetihi.) 10.00am The Holy Eucharist. Cup of tea follows - Please bring a plate.
