Head on collision
Two people are in Wanganui Base Hospital following a head-on collision between a motorbike and a Bedford truck on Oruakukuru Road, 12km south of Raetihi on Thursday. The driver and passenger on the motorbike received severe injuries, while the driver of the truck was uninjured. *** A 17-year old Ohakune youth was arrested on Thursday night following an incident of disorder outside the Ohakune Hotel. He appeared in the Wanganui District Court on
charges of intentional damage and disorderly behaviour. ★ ★★ Two tennis racquets and three balls were stolen from the back seat of a motor vehicle parked in a driveway in Arawa St last Thursday. Police enquiries are continuing. ★ ★★ A Makita electric saw stolen from a contractor's vehicle at Karioi on 1 7 November is still being sought. The theft was reported last w e e k . Enquiries are continuing. ★ ★★ Ohakune Police are
investigating the theft of a men's orange 10-speed bicycle from the carpark of Ohakune New World last week. ★ ★★ Police are interested in hearing from the owner of a gent's wrist-watch found on the forecourt of an Ohakune service station during September: The watch may be claimed at the Ohakune Police Station. ★ ★★ Offenders got away with a ceramic vase and a sand sculpture after a smash and grab incident at 'Covers' in Clyde St, Ohakune on Friday.
