"Chills Off" carnival coming up

Preparations for Chills Offs Christmas Carnival to be held Saturday 29 November at the Raetihi Skating rink are well under way. The carnival is a further fund-raising venture to raise the $120,000 necessary to enclose the Raetihi swimming baths, Activities commence at 10am and include tractor mat rides, break-dancing demonstrations, tug-o-war, skating and karate displays. Chinese food, hot dog stands and a hangi will

cater for everyone's tastes on the day. Chills Off chairman Shirley McDonough said the response from the community has been good. A number of local businesses and trades people have booked stall space already and some out of town businesses have expressed interest in displaying their goods. Father Christmas will be making a special pre-Christmas appearance on the day. To date, the committee have raised over $15,000.
