Supermarket has high scorer

Ohakune New World has the distinction of employing the highest scorer in this year's Foodstuffs Retailers Management Course. New World manageress Kay Cranston completed the first year of an advanced three year course

with honours when she scored 88 percent on her final exam. Sixteen people sat the examination. The course is a follow-up to a five year retailing programme which Kay completed last year. The qualification makes it easier for staff aspiring to buy their own store. The course involves completing regular assignments and attending seminars throughout the year. Each assignment takes a full day to complete according to Kay, who has been manageress of the business for over a year. Wage clerk Jan Geraghty began a similar retailing course earlier this year.
