My First Pony One day I was walking along, when this man was selling ponys. I ran home and I smashed my Piggy Bank. I took every single cent out. It took it to the man and I bought my own pony. I rode it every day. I thought I would ride it down the valley. I took food, a box of matches and a tent. It was fun. I stayed two nights in the bush. It was fun. I went exploring and climbing. The next day I headed off home, but I had found out that I was lost. Two days and no sign of help and I was running out of food fast in my bag. I checked once more in my bag and I decided I had a good chance. I had a mirror. I said "That will do". I pointed it at the sun. I heard a noise - it was nothing, just grasshoppers. Two days and no luck. They should have had a search party sent out by now. I saw a plane. I shouted and shouted and made the biggest noise I could make, but they never heard me. This time a helicopter came over, and I made a bigger noise again. I made a fire and they saw the smoke. They came down, and landed, and I was as cold as ever. They took me home. I told them everything. They let the pony go, and it went wild after a while.

One morning I was skating down the path a black truck pulled up beside me. I started to skate back down the path fast. A little kid was setting up a ramp and I could not stop so I went zooming up it at full speed. I made it up but I did not know if I would land safely. The little kid didn't like me going over his jump so he started to run after me with the hose and he started to squirt me.

The Eruption It was July 4 1980, the sun was high in the sky. the clouds were rushing across the sky, because of the wind. As I walked home I looked up at the mountain and heard a loud rumble. "I wonder what that was". But I was really interested about the noise. A few minutes later I heard it again, and again. I wondered if our house was on fire because I saw smoke in the sky. I started to run my hardest. "I hope it isn't true" I said to myself. When I got to my front gate I knew it wasn't our house. When I got home Mum was in the kitchen peeling potatoes. "Mum do you know was the noise ten: minutes ago?". "I'm not sure" she said. After that I walked out the front door. "I wonder what this afternoon will bring". Just then I looked up at the mountain. "I hope that's not what I think it is". "What" said Mum from the kitchen. "The mountain has erupted", I screamed. Mum came running. "I'm ringing all our friends to tell them to get all they can get and then run for it." "Hurry Mum because the lava will come down fast." I gathered all the things that we would really need.
