Sun shines on Waimarino golf
Sunbumt faces attested to the brilliant weather conditions on Sunday, after the Waimarino Golf Club's annual 36-hole mixed foursomes championships. Over 70 enthusiasts took part in the competition which was sponsored by BNZ Finance. Some notable under-par scores were notched up during the day, including • that of K. Greenwood and J. Hammond. The winners of the championships however, were Stuart Magee and Karen Cranston (Mixed Foursomes Open Championships Cup) for the highest gross score, and Marie and Gary Allerby (David Isaacs and Sons Cup) for the highest net score. Results: AM gross M. and T. Rodgers (85), runners-up G. O'Dea and V. Wells (85); AM nett P. and W. Arahanga (68 1/2), run-ners-up N. Clarke and N. Winter; AM Par M. and M. Kennedy (+3), runners-up T.
