College designers on Wanganui catwalk
Two Ruapehu College sixth form students travelled to Wanganui recently to enter the Zonta award for excellence in clothing. The students designed, made and modelled a garment of their own choosing, as part of the sixth form certificate Home Economics course. Entries from all the schools in the Wanganui region were judged preceding the fashion parade in the Hall of Wanganui Intermediate School. The judges said it was pleasing to have such a high calibre of entry and it was important that any creative idea was taken through to its finishing stage.
