Dog shot

Waimarino's dog ranger and Ohakune Police shot a dog seen disturbing sheep late last week in the Ruapehu Road- Tawhero Terrace area. Earlier in the week more than twenty large lambs were mauled and left to die in the area. Dogs have also been active in a Raetihi farm block, between Ballance St and Mount View Rd. About eight lambs and two ewes were killed and many lambs were injured in two separate attacks. The Raetihi attacks have occured between 2 am and 5am. Police remind dog owners to keep their dogs under control, and warn that dogs seen worrying seep will be shot.
