Storage space sought
The Waimarino Red Cross are looking for storage for their emergency bedding bank and have called for offers from the public. Red Cross have built up the bedding bank to be used in emergencies such as civil defence emergencies, search and rescue operations and for victims of house fires or floods. The bank comprises four to six single and double
mattress and about 15 large cartons of bedding, including, blankets, linen, towels and pillows. Space used would need to be dry, lockable and within the Waimarino. Until now the bedding bank has been housed in the old vault in the Ohakune Public Library. Anyone with space available is asked to contact Sue Kumeroa, or Shelagh and Nigel Buck in Ohakune.
