WCAC goes from strength to strength
Waiouru's Community Advisory Committee was formed following a recommendation by the 1978 Commission of Inquiry into social facilities in the Waiouru Camp Community and since that time has gone from strength to strength. The committee aims te provide a climate for a public forum, to improve communication between the army administration, community and business organisations and the general public. Secretary Peter Bright said the committee liaises with organisations and lo-
cal bodies, advising them on the needs of the community. They also represent the community outside the area, where it is felt their views should be heard. The 21-strong committee includes the Commander ATG, the area's riding member and the community social worker. The other 18 members are nominated as having the interests of the community at heart and serve on the committee for an unspecified period of time either until they retire or are posted to another Army Camp.
