Cookie Bear visits Whakapapa

School holiday skiers were amused to see Cookie Bear and his clown helper entertaining children on Whakapapa's learner slopes during the school holidays. While the upper slopes are only offering marginal skiing for intermediate and expert skiers there was plenty of snow on the beginners' slopes.

"lt's been a disappointing season so far," said Scott Lee, Marketing Officer for Ruapehu Alpine Lifts "but at least were able to offer good skiing for the children during the school holidays." Approximately 2000 skiers have been visiting Whakapapa daily throughout the holidays.
